OFFICIAL COMPETITIONS 2026 OVERALL RANKING

A unified points system accross all Official Competitions.

For years, we have thrived on the excitement of independent tournaments, celebrating spectacular touchdowns and daring strategies across all the pitches of the Old World. Individual tournaments each season are the backbone of the Blood Bowl competitive scene. However, it can sometimes be difficult to properly evaluate coaches’ performances over an entire year, their consistency, their overall success, and therefore their legitimacy to stand among the best of the best.

Today, we are proud to announce the launch of the Blood Bowl Official Competitions Overall Ranking for 2026.

This inaugural year will serve as a full-scale test for an ambitious new format, designed to reward consistency and give every coach a chance to prove their worth throughout the year.

This ranking will have no impact on the 2026 World Championship qualification. However, it will provide a new path to access the next year’s Super League, transforming the seasonal invitational tournament organized by Jimmy Fantastic into an elite competition accessible through clear and merit-based performance to any overperforming coach.

WHICH TOURNAMENTS WILL COUNT IN THE RANKING?

The full Competitive Circuit is composed of Supported Competitions, organized by community leagues, and Official Competitions, closely tied to specific game modes. Both types of tournaments grant tickets to the 2026 World Championship, but only Official Tournaments will count toward the Overall Ranking, at least for this inaugural test year.

SEASONAL PLAYOFFS AND WEEKEND TOURNAMENTS

Every match counts! Your results in all Official Competitions throughout 2026 will contribute to your score in the Overall Ranking. The more prestigious the tournament, the more points it awards.

  1. The World Championship: The ultimate tournament of the year will award the highest number of points and stands alone in its own category.
  2. The Elite Series tournaments: Reserved for the best of the best each season, these restricted-access events will award a significant number of ranking points. Arena Playoffs, Ladder Playoffs, Champions Cups, and the Super League all belong to this category.
  3. The Weekend Clash tournaments: Going back to the very roots of Blood Bowl with formats inspired by tabletop competitions, these tournaments are designed to be played over a single weekend. Open to all, with no access restrictions, they offer the perfect opportunity to test your skills against a wide range of opponents in a dense, competitive format—one full weekend dedicated to strategy and Blood Bowl tactics.

WEEKEND CLASH

Weekend Clashes are joining the Official Competitions lineup and will be organized by our 2024 World Champion, Andriy. These tournaments are open to everyone and played over a single weekend in a swiss format. While the first Weekend Clashes will feature individual coaches, future editions may introduce team-based formats.

Eight Weekend Clashes will be organized between January and August. Each of them will award one ticket to the 2026 World Championship, as well as points toward the Overall Ranking.

GET READY FOR KICK-OFF!

The 2026 competitive year is an adventure we will build together with coaches and tournament administrators. Specific dates and formats will be announced progressively. More details about the system and how to check this ranking will come shortly.
